OPAL MINE 

The mine displays round and square tunnels, spent explosive faces, investigator

and caldwell drill shafts, and hand diggings.

Information is displayed around the mine showcasing

slides/faults and levels, opal seams, diving rods, bosun chair and static tunnelling machine.

​

A live demonstration of a Bosun Chair

and Blower is available on our guided tour.

​

Modern opal jewellery and souvenirs

are available in our newly tunneled reception area.

​

In peak season (April – October) we are open Monday to Sunday 9:00am to 4:00pm. Self-Guided tours available between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm and Guided tours available: 

• 10:00am

• 1:30pm
